Please Do Now:

  1. SHOW NOT TELL: Take the following telling sentence and turn it into a showing paragraph:
  2. “Julius Caesar was an evil genius”
  3. Add as many supporting details to your paragraph as possible, and try to use imagery in your language.

Today students (actually) will:

  1. View a Powerpoint on the Renaissance, Reformation and the birth of Capitalism
  2. Compare and contrast artwork from the Medieval period and Renaissance
  3. View a timeline of the Renaissance

Tonight’s homework is:

  1. Choose two examples of Medieval / Gothic artwork and two pieces of Renaissance artwork from the website below:
  2. http://witcombe.sbc.edu/ARTHLinks2.html
  3. Describe the artwork in your own words, and compare and contrast both the forms and the themes of Medieval and Renaissance art.
